Good morning! As I anticipated last week when I shared the deep dive on Biofield Science, here the published episode with my (new) friend Thornton Steeter, a 30+ years’ expert on the (almost) magical technology of biophotonic imaging. If there is one thing I wish you could get from this video, it is the extreme accessibility of this tool. You can now take pictures directly with your smartphone and… I have 1 month of free access to his analysis tool, exclusive to WGW community!
Missed last week's insights on Your Energy Field Has Been Measured. And It Changes Before You Get Sick.? Here's the link to catch up before diving into this week's edition.
Biohacking VS Bioresonance | How Biofield Science Predicts Biomarkers Months Before Symptoms Appear. Watch 👇
Ready to Read the Signal Your Body Sends Before Symptoms Do?
This is exactly the layer we cover at The Science of Healing & Enlightenment program, and 1:1 Quantum Diagnostic Sessions are built to work with: learning to actually read what your own field is signaling, and releasing what has been trapped there instead of just optimizing around it.
Cohort 1 finished a few weeks ago. Cohort 2 is being planned for later this year. If you want the details before the next 10 seats open publicly, join the waiting list here!
Or if a 1:1 conversation is what you need first, the Quantum Diagnostic Session is still open: Map what's running your system. Release what's blocking your flow.
A 90-120 minute deep dive into the patterns operating beneath your conscious awareness, the survival archetypes, trapped emotions, and energetic blocks that shape your decisions, relationships, and capacity for sustainable success.
Quick answers from the video
Can biofield science really detect disease before symptoms appear?
Thornton Streeter, who coined the term "biofield science" and has led the field's research for over 30 years, says yes. A living system emits measurable biophotons, and a healer's hands fire roughly 10,000 times more light the instant healing intent kicks in. His original research goal at MIT India (with a UN chair) was to map an individual's health trajectory closely enough to catch the onset of disease before symptoms, even before pain, since disease enters the body through the energetic template first. Your Energy Field Has Been Measured. And It Changes Before You Get Sick. goes deeper into the research behind this claim.
How can a smartphone camera actually capture a biofield?
The Soul Mirror app, co-developed by Thornton Streeter, uses non-linear programming to examine every pixel a phone camera captures and assign color to frequencies normally invisible, like infrared and ultraviolet, that older cameras were literally built to filter out as noise. The processing runs in the cloud, so the phone itself never gets drained. Streeter recommends building a baseline: take a photo daily, in good light, and track how your own field's color and pattern shift over time. Quantum Fields to Feeling: The Science of Energy Systems covers the underlying physics.
Why does trauma stay "trapped" in your energy field instead of fading on its own?
Streeter compares it to a fly caught in a spider's web: the trauma just sits there, unprocessed, until the spider goes back and actually digests it. Until you do the same work, that trapped charge keeps resonating in your field and, from where you're standing inside your own web, clouds your view of yourself. It only clears through deliberate release, not time alone. The Body Keeps Score: Understanding Trauma's Energy Imprint explores the same mechanism from the nervous system side.
Is biohacking obsolete? What's the actual difference between biohacking and bioresonance?
Not obsolete, but incomplete, according to Streeter: a fit body is not automatically a healthy one. Biohacking optimizes inputs like sleep, supplements, and heart rate variability, but without the energetic layer, he argues it never really resolves anything, closer to hardware upgrades on software that is still crashing. Bioresonance is what he calls transcending biohacking: seeing yourself from the molecular level all the way into the biophotonic structure. Why Your Burnout Has Nothing to Do With Working Too Hard unpacks the same optimized-but-still-crashing pattern. If you want to map your own energetic blueprint directly, the Quantum Diagnostic Session and The Science of Healing & Enlightenment go several layers deeper than any app can.

Welcome back to Wholegrain Wisdom podcast. That's the place where we are reconnecting the dots between the ancient wisdom and the science to prove they're finally the same fundamental truth just expressed in different languages and who better than Thornton Streeter today I have it on the podcast and you're a pioneer researcher in the biofield science.
I think you're probably among the people that defined and coined the term in the in the back days and you're the founder of the center for biofield sciences with over 30 years of experience understanding the human biofield through the ground-breaking imaging technologies that we're going to talk about that I would say so much more accessible than what people would think. We're going to go into details just in a sec. So, welcome to our to the show. How's it going? Fantastic. Fantastic.
I'm I'm really in my little house in England. It's glorious summer here, so honestly, I couldn't be happier. Amazing. So, as we were chatting just before hitting the record button I watched some of your interviews before and you told me in the pre-interview few bits and baits of your story and I think that let's start with from there. I think it's so fascinating what have you been doing for the last 30 years. Bring us in a journey. How the heck did you come where you are today?
What have been, you know, the ups and downs so far? Well, that's it's such a wonderful invitation. Well, I do feel like I've had a very blessed and colorful life. I think the key points for me was that I was educated in the UK but at quite an early age, you know, 20 odd, I went to India to study and I was there for a number of years studying holistic health sciences but from a perspective of the Vedic science and even from the Zoroastrian perspective.
I was studying with the ancient Zoroastrian community and they have a huge amount of detail about the human being. Much wider and deeper than I was aware of in western studies of medicine and health care. So, I realized that this was a very important area of study, but also you know, it was fascinating to me and I was I was really in the thick of it.
I remember going to a ceremony in South India and there was a lady there called Rosemary Steel and she was taking Kirlian photographs of the handprints of the chief priest. And this ceremony was extraordinary. It was a Yagna in this ceremony because the priest was supposed to leave his body. But you know, there was several days leading up to that and this lady Rosemary Steel was taking his energy handprints with the Kirlian device. It's called electrographic imagery.
And sure enough, in the key days when he was supposed to leave his body, there was no handprints. And that deeply affected me because this was evidence for a kind of astral projection, I guess. I remember going back to the UK. This is before obviously the internet and I remember going to the library and looking up Kirlian photography to find out who were the practitioners in the UK that I could connect with so that Did you even find any? Yes, yes, very much so.
I remember calling one lady and I said, "Do you do Kirlian photography?" And she said, "No, no, we don't do that anymore." And I think I called her up a few weeks later and said, "Well, what do you do?" And they had moved on and were developing a Kirlian-based treatment device which I also found totally fascinating. So, you know, I think I was just very lucky to be a young man when all these real pioneers were still alive in Britain and in other countries who were working with energy healing devices like radionics.
And you know, there was a guy called Tony Bassett who used to have a studio under the arches in Camden in London and he was making astral projection pillows where, you know, you could just put your head on this thing and fall asleep and it would facilitate that process. So, you know, I'm a real fan of parapsychology, you know, all of the different dimensions of higher sensory perception. And so, all these kinds of tools become fascinating.
And I was just a young man having a great time, but I also realized that there needed to be a formal environment for this kind of research and I couldn't find one. So, I approached a university in India called MIT that had really good relationship with the United Nations. They had the UN chair, one of the few UN chairs as a university.
So, I was drawn to them and we set up a research lab there and it was just one of the most exciting journeys I've ever had on my life in my life because my thesis was basically mapping the trajectory of an individual's health to see if we could prepone the diagnostic experience to see if before symptoms, even before pain, we could identify the onset of disease states and obviously treat them much more economically and effectively save health care because, you know, resources could be assigned much more effectively if prevention is the key to the community health program because disease is expensive to treat whereas the early signs of it aren't expensive at all and very low impact.
You don't even need to take days off work, you know, if you're treating something well before. So, I like that and we know from studies that disease enters the body sort of in the energetic template first. So, having an eye on that, it makes it very exciting. But, of course, there's so much more than just, wellness and disease with humans, you know, we have another scale, that relates to our spiritual development. And I think that, aspect of this science had been very much overlooked as well.
And so, I thought our institute shouldn't just be like a health institute. It should, you know, we should scan gurus and see what they look like so we could, you know, measure, the advances of man not just in terms of fitness, but also in terms of spiritual well-being. So, you know, these were the things that I did in my early days. Make a step back here. Yeah. Sorry, Thor. Let me kind of bring it down into a like first step into this kind of topic.
So, for anyone that has never heard about the biofield or is just getting into accepting and understanding this field of science because first of all, we're talking about science here. It's not just spiritual kind of conversation. And sure. What are we talking about? And especially what how scientifically can you tell me we can predict or the signs of a disease. What does it actually mean? Right. Right. Well, that's all good. I mean, the simple fact is that this science has been tabooed for a while.
So, there are some gaps in people's knowledge. But, what we're effectively looking at is the difference between a living system and a system which is no longer alive. And how you can tell the difference is a living system emanates biophotons and other electromagnetic and other electromagnetic frequency sets. And so, there's actually a measurable symphony of frequencies coming from a living system, whether it's a human being or anything else. But, modern medicine doesn't measure this. It doesn't even recognize this.
So, when you do have the subtle devices to measure the biophotonic emissions from living systems, you can see, for example, when a healer is in a standing state, we can measure a certain amount of biophotonic emissions coming from the palm of their hand. But, the moment they intend healing or for healing to occur, that biophotonic emission increases by 10,000-fold. So, it's a bit like that person is firing light out of their hand. And it's measurable now.
So, we've just entered an era after having to wait for technology to become sensitive enough where we can measure these very delicate but very important signals emanating from the body. And in terms of disease states, well, each pattern in the biofield, which, of course, is the sum of all these signals, can lead to, as I said, onto the trajectory of a disease state. So, it's an opportunity for us to see the imbalances in the field, see how they're compromised by different things, and what that means.
And it's a very exciting, growing science, and I would encourage anyone, who's interested in this field to join us because, you know, we need, as many minds around the world working on this. This is the true way, to study consciousness. But, you were telling me that this kind of detection mechanism doesn't need to be necessarily done by like a super precise or expensive tool, right? The like the hardware is already there.
Let's say, let's take the example of a of an iPhone or like a kind of like a relatively new model of a smartphone. How's it even possible that camera can capture whatever kind of data that then you use to get this image? We use non-linear programming. So, that basically allows, a lot to go on all at the same time. And so, we're basically, examining every single pixel in the frame that the cap that the image is capturing, and assigning it, a color, a color, a brighter color, so that, frequencies that are in the infrared, spectrum or the ultraviolet spectrum are suddenly made visible.
It really is very simple and very sophisticated at the same time. And that's why, it can be in a phone because, you know, the software itself is working in the cloud, and so, we're not draining the phone when you use it. And you just sort of get a little window snapshot into the software. Yeah. When, like if I kind of try to imagine for myself, I imagine the camera is taking the picture of the visible light.
But then you're telling me not only in the sense that we're getting a broader piece of the spectrum of the electromagnetic spectrum already by ourselves and we even have programs in a traditional camera that would kind of eliminate the non-needed pieces of the spectrum to make a normal picture, but instead you're merging them back together, right? Yeah, yeah. I mean, it's often called noise and you know, cameras in the sort of '90s were actually designed to sharpen the noise out.
But it's it's just a fascinating revelation. And to me, it feels like the very process of education, going to the classroom, you know, very early age and looking at this blackboard at the end of the room and then back at the pencil and the pad on our desk and up to the blackboard again. You do that for 15 years, you're getting trained with a range of sight. And this is something that we can question, you know, why are human beings getting trained to be human doings?
Because what we're talking about is the science of human beings and it's been overlooked by industries that capitalize on such things as patents and licenses so that, you know, it's it's a business. Health is a business. Whereas what we're doing is science for knowledge. They're two different things and that they compete. They really do compete. Yeah, definitely. But so imagine I'm giving like you're giving this tool to anyone.
Then me as a known expert, known doctor, known specifically trained person, what do I do with this? Like what is the actual goal of having a clear picture of your biofield? Right. Okay, well, I mean, it's it's it's a bit like human design in a sense. Have you come across human design? Yeah, I definitely I do use it with AI together with astral pictures and like astrology charts and so on to really understand like the energy profile of a person. Right.
So, so human design just sort of grew out of nothing really, but it also is it's it's tagged into this massive and important, you know, the science of astrology. And as we understand more about the influence of planets on us, a bit like homeopathic medicines, you know, we can perhaps get more in line with how that serves us and how human design as a toolkit can bring together all kinds of bits of information to become relevant as a kind of a cast, you know, horoscope, if you like.
And I think we're very much in that same genre where as a practitioner I do readings of biofields. But if nobody's ever done a reading before, they've never heard a reading of a biofield before, then you look at your biofield image, you may think, well, that's useless information. But actually, this is one of the most significant things that I've discovered, I would suggest, is that our higher sensory perception is calibrated to fully understand what we're seeing when we look at our own biofield image.
And it actually elevates us and our consciousness to access this higher sensory perception. So, for 20 years I was wondering how to add legend and structure to people's images when they saw them on their phone, but I realized the best legend was none at all because it becomes like a you know, a holographic helmet for a fighter pilot. All the information is coming into him directly and he can act accordingly because he's had all of this training for decades and decades.
Well, what I'm suggesting is that when we see our biofield and we put this helmet on if you like, it activates not training but deep inner awareness of consciousness and of self. So, I would then encourage someone who has got our app, you know, the Soul Mirror, to look at that image, take a good one of course, look at it, and save it, and then do the same thing the next day or every hour or you know, but at least every day until you build up a baseline of what you know you look like.
Then for example, if when you take a picture of yourself one day, it's different, you can explore what that difference might be. You know, if you've got a load of pink cloud around your head, you may think, oh wow, I think I'm getting flu or something. And then if the next day or the day after you actually get a cold, you're teaching yourself how monitoring your own biofield is a very useful tool.
Can you monitor into this biofield also the information that So, for example, part of the Wholegrain Wisdom work that we do with the community is a lot about energy release and traumatic experiences energetic blueprints kind of release kind of somatic work and so on. Is this also connected to this? Like can you actually see specific negative emotions or trapped energies in your field in your body that are that are stuck? Yeah, this is exactly what we are doing.
So you can see the physical body and you can speak to the systems of the body. You can see the emotional body and you can see all the other different factors that affect the biofield because our system has different filters. So for example, the current theory about biofield science is that trauma is trapped in the field. I say it's a bit like a fly which has gotten caught in your web and you've wrapped it up and it's just there in the field. It's there in the web.
That's your trauma, you know, an incident that happened in a previous year or something. Now normally what you would do if you were the spider is you would go and get that fly and you would digest it and you'd reprocess it. But sometimes you'll see a spider's web where there are quite a few flies still stuck in the web. These are unprocessed traumas and the problem is when you as the spider look out your own web they cloud it. They block it. They create a blockage in your own view out of yourself.
So until you go get them and digest them that trauma is going to resonate in your field as a charge. Yeah. So that's what modern energy medicine is dealing with. Now what we're doing is we're making that visible. So you can see patches of color and maybe disharmonious energy in the field, and with more and more experience, you can either just deal with it, which is what I encourage people to do, just you know, dissolve it, digest it, or you can assign a whole lot of knowledge to it, which is this means this, it comes from that, it relates to that, which is the therapeutic experience.
So, people can either do self-healing, or they can go on a journey of healing with others, but either way, they can use our tool to see how they're responding to the choices that they make. And that's the most important thing, because this now becomes a pocket genie that you're that you have access to without anyone else, without any other middleman telling you what something means or what you've got to do. And I feel that's also very important as well.
I don't want to replace a whole lot of drug-dealing doctors with a whole lot of psychotic magic mushroom goons. I just don't want to do it. I want to empower every individual to make the correct choices for themselves. Yeah. Yeah, definitely. I did When you were describing like how you can get trained and used by yourself to watch regularly at the biofield, and then kind of know for yourself what's happening.
I think it's fascinating, cuz it immediately came back to my mind when I was still into that full biohacking mode, and I had my wrist watch with the with the tracker. And I got so used to monitor like the HRV and all of the other kind of like stress KPIs and whatever, until the point that the more that I've done all of these cleaning and inner work, I really realized, okay, I don't actually need it anymore, because I can perceive it by myself. And I guess that's kind of like the upgraded version with the bio field.
I bring me somewhere. So, let me let me go where you in the in the pre-interview we chatted a little bit about, you know, the new world divided between the biohacking side and the bioharmonizing kind of side. Let's be Yeah. Covering a little bit of this topic. Like, how do you see us as humanity as people individuals going from the understanding that first of all, as a biohacker, as anyone that wants to take control up on their health, they can first of all do it now.
I mean, some years ago it was even unthinkable that you could retake control over your own health, but how does it move from the chemistry part into the energy part with your work and the scientific you're bringing forward?
Yeah, I mean I'm I'm that is just because that's I'm a product of that world, you know, I come from the energetic sciences, so I am always a little bit I feel that the biochemistry aspect of health has not really served humanity very well, so I always see it as being a bit short-sighted, but I do obviously embrace the sophisticated organizations that are making really powerful tools for individuals, but fundamentally I feel that there's a lack of spirit in the biohacking movement.
It feels more like multi-level marketing than a community project. You know, there's winners and losers somehow weirdly. Whereas I think that the bioharmonization perspective would include a biohacking aspect, you know, where we're kind of being smart about what we're ingesting into our bodies. But without the energetic perspective, biohacking doesn't really go anywhere. Because a fit body is not a healthy body necessarily. And the word that the word health has been reduced to being fit.
Whereas you mentioned heart rate variability there. You know, the kind of ability to respond to shocks and traumas, you know, that recovery rate. These sorts of things are actually just as important. And to give you an example, if I measure someone's biofield and they're very stressed, I can tell, you know, I can see this burnout in their field. Their field becomes all speckled and like it pocket it has pockets. It loses its it ability to shield itself. It becomes sort of blown out. Very much like they are.
And so we realized that, you know, in the modern world, we actually need to have tools like this which allow us to measure not just the functionality of our organs, but our actual this our cells, you know. And I think that's a really beautiful process because this is the very nature of integration. When we talk about integrative therapies, this is it. And integrative health has been a little bit sabotaged for quite some time.
So, I'm glad that we're asking this question, biohacking versus bioresonance, because I think the true answer is we transcend bio hacking into bio resonance and that allows us to really see ourselves as we truly are across from the molecular structure into the biophotonic structure and see what that is because consciousness is this crucible where evolution and revelation meet and they're like a cathode and an anode and we're the characters that are that are formed between those two great sparks.
And if we don't know that, if we don't realize that, we don't we don't understand our own divinity if you like. We're always going to serve short, you know, we're going to serve ourselves short, we're going to serve our family short, and we're going to serve our community short because we're going to be about gathering things and you know, accumulation and stuff. Whereas we have an opportunity to transcend that.
Can proudly say that I've been kicked out of one of the largest bio hacking communities in the world because I was speaking too energetic for them. So, I definitely resonate to use a to use a term of this field with what you're saying. And actually what comes to my mind now is okay, to anyone that is still listening to us and kind of you know, you still have a little bit of a scientific western approach to all of this.
What are what are in your history and like in your knowledge of and experience of this 30 years working with this? What are the I don't know, like top three to five key peer reviewed or are very important studies that we've been able to actually prove with this technology, not necessarily yours only, but in general, that you think are still not like widespread enough? Right. Well, there is there is there is a paper produced by Shamini Jain and her community. It's called Global Advances in Healthcare.
If you look up Shamini Jain and Global Advances in Healthcare, there's a really big, very impressive paper they produced, kind of setting the scene of what is the science. I'm I'm also really big fan of a guy called David Feinstein, who is the partner of you know, the real the real pioneer of energy medicine. And so, he's got a fabulous insight as a scientist into what healing really is doing. Donna Eden is the lady I'm speaking about. So, so I would I would dive into those two places.
From my perspective, if you go to ResearchGate or academia.edu, those are two online portals for research. And they've got quite a lot of resources that people have shared, different biofield papers. So, you know, if you go into academia.edu and search my name, I've got quite a few interesting papers there where we comparing different biofield imaging devices, for example. But it's funny because I thought you were going to ask me a different question.
And I just suddenly came with this beautiful flash, and I thought I'd share it anyway, if you don't mind, because one of the most interesting things about Yeah, one of the most interesting things about technology like mine and other cameras of its genre is that we can often image entities. We can image, for example, if someone has a heart transplant, you can still see the hologram of the owner of the original heart. And of course this Wow. Is a very badly understood part of health care.
You know, modern hospitals do not clean the rooms for souls and entities. They clean the steel and they clean the cotton. But you don't have any kind of And that's why there was something, I think, about a shaman walking around a hospital and he could see all these dead bodies, you know, dead being, you know, the souls of dead bodies. And he was very concerned because they were entering You know, we have this postnatal depression.
Some people say that's you know, disincarnate souls entering the empty womb, a bit like a hermit crab finds a new shell. So until modern science lifts the brakes on a wider understanding of what's going on we're going to continue to be served really badly. Let me start to kind of wrap it up a little bit here. Yeah. I'm curious to understand, first of all, based on your own 30 years of experience and all of the amount of data that you've collected about the biofield, how do you see these pictures moving?
Because you were telling me just before this interview that like over these years you're seeing more and more harmonizing kind of images. What's going on here and how could you actually explain it from a let's say direction of where humanity is going? Well, I think that is Yeah, I mean having just spoken about what I did, I think you're absolutely right.
When I first used to give lectures around the world, let's say there's a hundred people in the room, and I would always set up my equipment at the back of the room. So, whilst I was talking, everyone could tap each other on the shoulder, and they could turn back of the room, and my assistant would take their biofield image, which they would then take with their phone. Or in the early days, they didn't even have phones, to be honest.
But, what it meant was that every single person in the room got to see their own scan, as well as hear the talk about what everything, you know, meant. And in those early days, you know, I'd be excited to see one of a hundred who would show up lit up, and lit up means just fully in a divine state, you know, the biofield is totally optimized, and it looks like you can imagine a blissed-out yoga teacher or something, you know, or a healer. And you'd see one in a hundred like that.
But, over the 30 years that I've given lectures, as I said, literally around the world, as I'm thinking, in Australia and Singapore and India, wherever it was, this number would increase. And so, there'd be two in a hundred, or five in a hundred, or ten in a hundred. Until recently, I'll go to give a lecture and scan a whole load of people, and 30 or 40% of them will be showing up in this state of harmony and bliss.
And I just find that phenomenal, because that is a scientific measure of the enlightenment of mankind that's It's going on over the last 30 years. And to humbly witness it is one of the most divine experiences I've ever had ongoing. Amazing. Yeah, I can't imagine it's it must be So, I mean, I'm here relatively new, let's say, to the to the kind of awakening conversation, and I and I can see that, of course, we are accelerating exponentially everywhere I look at it. And So, let me close this wonderful conversation.
Where can people, first of all, find you? What can you mentioned that you can give something to the community they can experience by themselves everything that you just talked about? And give me kind of like a hint of what it means for you, guerrilla healing, as you were just telling me before this conversation went live. Yeah. Yeah, well, I think guerrilla healing is really what we've all had to be doing for the last 30 years, because the pharmaceutical industry shut down science for anything other than pharmaceuticals and biochemistry about 30 years ago.
And I mean, I gave a lecture in Paris not that long ago, and one of the professors from a UK university was asking me, you know, why how can you do this? So, you know, I think that's that's a crucial element is that it's now accessible. Our app is called Soul Mirror. And we wanted to make it available to everyone so that everyone could break through this rather bizarre situation and just see it for themselves. How you get hold of Soul Mirror is on the Patreon website, because we see our users as patrons.
They're They're supporting our research, and they're helping us develop our tool. And it's something like 20 bucks or 20 quid a month, but I am more than happy to let people have a look for free. So, I will give you personally a password and a admin user for a portal that will stay open for a month or so. So, all of your colleagues and people who watch this presentation can use it and have a look. The key thing I would say is that you need to take your images in an optimum environment.
And so, we're very keen to make sure we share that little 5-minute training video for optimization of imagery. Otherwise, you just don't see as much as you could if you don't take the image right. But that's the only slight kind of you know, limiter to the process. You just need to be conscious of making sure that you're well lit when you take an image. So, we've definitely jumped around today, and I'm definitely happy to come back for more to the whole grain as we watch that whole grain grow like a beanstalk.
And I'm open to answer any other questions, especially about interpretation. If someone takes a picture of themselves or their family or their pets or a whole gang of people, and they want to know, you know, what each picture means, I'm happy to do that because this is just a transfer of knowledge, and it's my duty to do that.
